Its range is reduced from that of historic times, with species distribution primarily in California's Central Valley and interior valleys of the Central Coast Mountain Range.
Yellow-billed Magpies live in oak savannah habitats
and grassland habitats, with adaptation to suburban life in some
cities such as Sacramento and Davis.
